Finally, photos!

So, as you know the Barrowcudas have been keeping fairly busy. I finally had some time to upload our pics from our Thanksgiving trip to San Diego.

Thanksgiving morning, Atticus took his first plane flight to see his cousins Rylan, Kaden, and Easton and his aunt Wendy and Uncle Jason. He was so awesome. We woke him up at like 3 in the morning and he was wondering WTH? why are we up so early whats going on. When we arrived at the airport I think his eyes were like saucers he was so wide eyed taking it all in. His first visit to the airport. What is this strange place, what is that noise, who are all these people carrying bags? Why did you just give my car seat to that strange man. Wait who is touching me where? Then we got on the plane and I was in for a surprise. I wasnt sure how it would go. Babies ears, plane trips, colds... who knew what we would find out. Well our little one was just so amazed at being able to look out the window and not have to be in a car seat that he stayed like that almost the entire trip until he passed out from all the excitement. Not one cry, not one fuss, tapping the window, babbling, smiling at stewards and passengers and enjoying every unrestrained view from the window. Then he just laid his head down and stuck the thumb in his mouth and conked out! I was the happiest mother in the world! And apparently he was having some good dreams making him smile his cute smile even in his sleep.

So when we got into SD, we had a rental car and all went smooth we clicked in Atticus' car seat and were off to Oceanside to see the fam and celebrate Thanksgiving. This was our first time meeting Easton as well and as my sister would say, OMGosh! She is adorable. So quiet compared to our Atticus and such an observer. She sits up straight and looks around and her big sister, Rylan, is such the helper too. While we were only there for a short while we did some sight seeing. Wendy and Jason took us to the beach even though it was pretty cold and foggy. They didn't stick it out but mom was a trooper and we enjoyed ourselves in the fog. Hey you only get to visit the Pacific Ocean for the first time once so we had to memoralize it for Atticus and probably took waaaay too many pics. Too bad we forgot to plug in the camera afterwards since it means we only have about four photos from our day at the San Diego zoo. I have a few more on my phone though that might make it into another post. We also went to olde town san diego and enjoyed some margaritas- maybe a few too many- thanks guys for watching Atticus while we had date night on a CRUISE SHIP!!! We've included pictures there too, as well as our little jaunt (four hours in traffic to get there!) to LA. Well worth it to see the look on my moms face as we took her to the DASH store. She had no idea we were taking her and when we pulled up it was priceless. She even asked the store girl if Khloe was there cause she is her favorite Kardash. Yes, even at the store she still can't call them the Kardashians- they are the Kardash for her. She talked up the bodyguard/security at the front door and told him the girls really ought to look into making clothes for older ladies and larger ladies and Khloe should understand because she is a curvy girl like her. I don't think I have been that embarrassed since sixth grade. My mom was wanting to buy something to mark her visit to the DASH store- the one on tv, the real one! so Attics "bought her a DASH tee for her christmas present. I think she got a pencil and compact mirror. After that, we walked down Rodeo drive and visited Prada. I was really impressed with how nice everyone was and how helpful and "oh can I show you anything, would you like to try this on or that on?". Definitely not a Pretty Woman experience. James was worried about ruining anyone's experience by bringing in Atticus to the fancy pants store but they told him to not be silly and come in. Of course as is standard anywhere he goes, the sales people and customers cooed over him and admired his big brown eyes. Then we did something we weren't really sure we would do but had to try- we ate at a fancy patio restaurant on rodeo drive with a six month old baby. Again, waiters and waitresses and diners alike cooed over him and one person said she is so happy to see parents who bring their child out with them rather than not ever exposing them to anything. I have to admit I was a little nervous but he did fine. He laughed and giggled and watched the christmas lights and soaked up the kisses from his nana. We also got a pic that made James the happiest guy in the world- a Beverly Hills Cop car.
The flight home was perhaps the most fun because, well Atticus was celebrating his sixth month birthday by flying cross country. He wasn't perfect, he cried about ten minutes when we first took off cause he had a dirty diaper and wanted his bottle. Alas, we were in seatbelt mode so we couldnt do anything. The guy who was supposed to be sitting next to me, when he had boarded we swapped seats for him with James in the next aisle so James could sit with me. Well, he felt the need to talk about babies crying on planes adn ruffling his newspaper the whole time Atticus was crying. I offered if he would like he could have his seat back which would be right next to me and James could take his seat back which was the aisle seat away from the crying baby. I know, I know, not nice. Bad Mommy! but I was cranky. Once the seatbelt light went off, the guy hightailed it to another row and we changed Atticus and gave him his bottle- go figure not another peep... no crying... the rest of the flight was a breeze with him even taking a nap on the tray tables. We made it home late and although bleary eyed from having fallen asleep in the car on the way home from the airport, he was up until 2am playing with his puppy and my moms dog who was still visiting. He missed them.
